Together in Pink: Retreats Tasmania’s Morning of Awareness and Generosity

At Retreats Tasmania’s venue in Kingston, the atmosphere was both relaxed and purposeful. Guests gathered with mugs of coffee or tea in hand, plates of delicious baked goods made especially for the event, and a sense of shared commitment in the air. Local business sponsors had stepped in with generous raffle prizes, and the space was buzzing with chatter, friendship and, importantly, thoughtful conversation around breast cancer awareness.

Why this matters:

Breast cancer remains a significant challenge: in Australia 1 in 7 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in their lifetime, 58 Australians are diagnosed with Breast Cancer daily, 1 in 550 men will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in their lifetime and, sadly, 9 Australians die from Breast Cancer each day. Events like today’s are more than just gatherings, they help raise the funds needed by the NBCF for cutting-edge research, early detection, improved treatment and funding breast cancer research towards their vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

What we achieved together:

The fundraising goal for the day was $1,500. Through donations on entry, raffle tickets purchased, and donations via our fundraising page, together we raised $1,598.

Every dollar will go towards supporting NBCF’s programmes: from developing new therapies to supporting researchers dedicated to hard-to-treat cases.

We hope today becomes one of many community occasions - filled with generosity, connection and real-world impact.

Final thoughts:

Today was a wonderful example of what community can do when we rally around a cause together. While our goal was surpassed, more importantly, momentum was built, awareness was increased, and hope was inspired. Thank you to everyone who attended, donated or supported in any way.
